Link Exchange to Increase Page Rank, Alexa Rank and Technorati Authority: A Test Case
As I have said in my previous post of how I have done everything to SEO dojimonster and imagine that in the future dojimonster is PR 4, this time I’m gonna try link exchange to increase page rank, alexa rank and technorati authority.
I’m going to have a little experiment with it, take note of every progress just like a scientist experimenting the effect of a new drug on a mouse.
The test is going to last for 30 days starting from April 5, 2008 and ends on May 5, 2008. The progress report is every Saturday (once a week).
The starting point
To see the progress, I will write down the beginning stat (before I implementd the experiment) for dojimonster. Here it is:

Alexa rank 6,014,274
Technorati authority 13
Today (April 7, 2008) the stat has shown some promising progress.
The Procedure
This is what I’m going to do:
1. I’m going to visit 10 blogs everyday and leave a message to ask for a link exchange (probably some of you have been visited by me :))
2. Write down the blogs that have been visited and also note down the ones that have responded to the request.
3. Keep doing this for the next 30 days, theoretically, I will have 300 (10 x 30) links coming into dojimonster.
Many people said that we have to be careful with the incoming links because, the argued, the inbound links are going to hurt our page rank more than giving benefit , especially when the links come from bad sources.
Well, although it might have some relevance, I don’t quite agree with that idea. I mean, by visiting and asking for a link exchange like what I’m doing right know, I get to know (and be known by) many bloggers who in return will visit my blog and rise my alexa.
Further more, the request is not just intended to satisfy all the crawlers and spiders, but is more to look for interaction with the other blogger in the blogsphere. I think this is the most important thing, that’s why I change the title “Links” into “Love Links” because love is the thing that I want to spread.
Back to the topic, I have seen an impressive alexa rank increase on the second day of the experiment. So, do visit dojimonster every Saturday to get the most updated result on this exciting topic.

I did 2 experiments on 2 of my blog and both reach PR3 in less than 3 months.
the 1st one : get as much backlink possible
the 2ns one: concentrate to get links only from high PR blogs (PR4 and above)
both way works : quantity and quality
